These terms govern your use of CoCounsel HQ's website, client portal, legal-support services, and the CoCounsel HQ Referral Network. By creating an account or placing an order you agree to them.
Who we are — and what we are not
CoCounsel HQ provides legal-support and back-office services to law firms (including insurance investigations, lien resolution, Medicare compliance support, medical records retrieval, and case management support) and operates a CoCounsel Referral Network for attorneys. CoCounsel HQ is not a law firm and does not provide legal advice. You remain solely responsible for your professional obligations, including conflicts checks, client consent to referral arrangements, and fee-division compliance under your state's rules of professional conduct.
Accounts
Accounts are for law firms and legal professionals. You are responsible for the accuracy of the information you provide, for safeguarding your credentials, and for activity under your account. We may suspend accounts that misuse the platform or misrepresent credentials.
Services & orders
Service orders are placed through the portal and governed by the pricing and terms presented at order time (including no-find/no-fee terms where offered). Turnaround estimates are good-faith estimates, not guarantees.
Referral Network
The Referral Network is a venue: it connects firms but is not a party to any referral, co-counsel, or fee-division agreement between them. You are responsible for compliance with the ethical rules applicable to attorney referrals in your jurisdiction, for verifying counterparties, and for any client consents required. Do not post client-identifying information or protected health information in referral listings. Priority tiers, credits, and related program features may be modified or discontinued at any time.
Tool credits
Promotional tool credits (for example, MedChron or Demand Letter credits) have no cash value, are non-transferable, and may expire or change as program terms evolve.
Public directory
If you opt in, we may display your professional profile on our public lawyer directory. You represent the profile information is accurate and authorized. You can opt out at any time.
Acceptable use
No unlawful use, no scraping or bulk extraction of directory or marketplace data, no misrepresentation of identity or licensure, and no interference with the platform's operation or security.
Disclaimers & liability
The platform and services are provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by law, CoCounsel HQ's aggregate liability arising out of the services or platform is limited to the amounts you paid us for the service giving rise to the claim in the twelve months preceding it. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for the acts or omissions of other network participants.
Changes
We may update these terms; material changes will be communicated through the platform or by email. Continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
